It's about Twine!

Locals and regulars of the Hunter Valley wine region are about to be treated to the newest and most exciting restaurant to open its doors this year. It's name, Twine.

Preparing to launch in September, Chef and restauranteur Matt Dillow of The Verandah Restaurant is the proud new owner.

Matt comes with a vast experience in high profile kitchens from Rydges Hotels and Resorts to Barrenjoey House in Palm Beach with the last 5 years making The Hunter Valley his home at his own restaurant, the Verandah Restaurant.

Overlooking the picturesque vineyards, Twine spills out onto a rose-trimmed courtyard fit for lunch in the sunshine, or evening cocktails under the stars. This stunning location ensures Twine Restaurant at Wynwood Estate will make a special occasion destination for visitors and locals alike.  Perfect for weddings and corporate events, Twine will cater to all styles of function.

Twine Restaurant will be open 7 days for lunch and Friday, Saturday and Sunday for dinner although group bookings and events will be welcome any time.

Weddings and Events:
Twine Restaurant at Wynwood Estate features stunning rose gardens and sweeping vineyard views across the valley making it an idyllic location for your dream wedding. The beautiful manicured hedge path paves the spectacular bridal entrance up the aisle; meeting at the gazebo overlooking the vineyard where a wedding ceremony takes place. This location provides abundant opportunities for those memorable photographs.

The perfect wedding reception comes with many options, including canapes and drinks served in the garden or in the historic Wine Museum, progressing onto a sit-down dinner in the characteristic Barrel Room featuring barn-like wooden doors opening out to an outdoor area, a perfect setting to continue the dance floor festivities.

Originally known as Happy Valley, more recently known as Golden Grape and now known as Wynwood Estate is where you will find Twine Restaurant.

On-site Ceremonies

Wynwood Estate boasts 100 picturesque acres of land including 65 acres of manicured vineyard which you are welcome to use for photos.

The cost is $500 and includes:
The set up white chairs to accommodate 25 percent of the guests. A table with skirting and two chairs for the Bride and Groom's signing.
Large white Bali flags where the ceremony is held if you wish.

Wet weather back up plan; We do have a Barrel Room available in the cellar door for use. However, you will be required to watch the weather reports and make a decision 3 full working days prior as we need to set this room. The charge is $150 extra, if you are getting married in the Barrel Room there is no extra charge but we still need 3 full working days prior as we will have to make room prior to setting up for the reception.

Post ceremony bar: We offer a Sparkling bar after the ceremony allowing the wedding party can have their photos whilst their guests are looked after with Wynwood sparkling wine, Premium beers, orange juice and crudity plates for guest to snack on prior to getting into the start of the reception. The cost for the Sparkling Bar is $15 per person and goes for 45 minutes after the ceremony ends enabling the bridal party enough time for plenty of photos. Alternatively guests can pay for their own drinks on consumption from our outside bar.

Terms and Conditions
If your reception is not being held at Twine there is a minimum spend of $1500 for an on-site ceremony.

All menus are samples and some ingredients may not be available at certain times of the year.

All menus include kitchen staff and are based on a minimum of 50 guests.
Wait staff are extra and we can supply professional bar and wait staff starting at $35 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours.

Itinerary

Day One ~ Monday

Meet in Hobart at 10am and drive to our accommodation.
Accommodation for next four nights is at Villa Howden, luxury accommodation on the waterfront of Howden. Visiting Grandvewe Cheese, Birchs Bay for a hands on cheese making class, tasting and lunch cooked by Matt, using Grandvewe Cheese products and other locally sourced ingredients. Chocolate tasting at world famous Kettering Chocolate finishing the day with dinner at Villa Howden.

Day Two ~ Tuesday
An early start making our way down the South coast to Huon Valley, followed by lunch cooked by Matt using Tasmanian Salmon and local produce. Stopping at Willie Smith Apple Cider Orchard tour and cider tasting, with an apple inspired dessert, followed by Home Hill Winery for wine tasting. Then dinner cooked by Matt using locally sourced produce.

Day Three ~ Wednesday
Take the car ferry to Bruny Island to discover Bruny Island Oysters, Bruny Island Cheese, Bruny Island Smoke House and have an optional whisky flight tasting. Boat ride TBC.
Ferry back to mainland. Arrive back in Villa Howden to freshen up then leave for dinner in Hobart for a degustation dinner at “Smolt Restaurant.”

Day Four ~ Thursday
Leave Villa Howden and head inland towards the Coal River region.
Wicked Cheese for cheese tasting and morning tea, Puddle Duck Vineyard wine and salmon tasting. Lunch cooked by Matt using local produce. Off to richmond region with free time to discover the Historic Richmond Town before we arrive back to the Villa Howden we visit Mount Wellington.
Dinnger tonight will be a 4 course dinner with Tasmanian cider and wine.

Day Five ~  Friday
Finish off with a long lunch in Hobart renowned seafood restaurant Mures.

Cost of $1750 per person twine share, single supplements can be arranged on request.
Tour includes:- 
5 Action packed days and 4 nights accommodation in a luxury villa
