It's about Twine!
Locals and regulars of the Hunter Valley wine region are about to be treated to the newest and most exciting restaurant to open its doors this year. It's name, Twine.
Preparing to launch in September, Chef's Matt Dillow of The Verandah Restaurant and long time friend from the kitchen, Adam Ireland are the proud new owners.
Matt and Adam first met in 1993 when they both started their Commercial Cookery trade at TAFE in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. The pair have since been mates for almost 20 years, and are excited to reunite once more bring their best of two decades of experience to this unique restaurant in the Hunter Valley.
Matt comes with a vast experience in high profile kitchens from Rydges Hotels and Resorts to Barrenjoey House in Palm Beach with the last 5 years making The Hunter Valley his home at his own restaurant, the Verandah Restaurant.
Whilst Adam started his trade in Park Royal Hotels and Resorts he then took his enthusiasm international into Edinburgh's best restaurants. From there he began touring the world for seven years catering for the worlds biggest rock bands and artists, with the likes of Madonna, AC/DC and Rod Stewart. He also worked as a personal chef for a number of artists such as The Spice Girls, Smashing Pumpkins and Paul McCartney. Adam is also an experienced business owner, running his own restaurant 'Mezzo in Cronulla, which was a favourite amongst the locals and earned Adam admirable respect in the competitive Sydney restaurant industry.
Adam is looking forward to bringing his global skills to the Hunter Valley as he prepares to heat up the stoves at Twine, with a delectable modern Australian menu. The signature dish, Singapore chilli mud crab, will be available daily and another specialty on offer, the oyster platter of six oysters done six different ways.
Overlooking the picturesque vineyards, Twine spills out onto a rose-trimmed courtyard fit for lunch in the sunshine, or evening cocktails under the stars. This stunning location ensures Twine Restaurant at Wynwood Estate will make a special occasion destination for visitors and locals alike. Perfect for weddings and corporate events, Twine will cater to all styles of function.
Twine Restaurant will be open 7 days for lunch and Friday, Saturday and Sunday for dinner although group bookings and events will be welcome any time.
Weddings and Events: Twine Restaurant at Wynwood Estate features stunning rose gardens and sweeping vineyard views across the valley making it an idyllic location for your dream wedding. The beautiful manicured hedge path paves the spectacular bridal entrance up the aisle; meeting at the gazebo overlooking the vineyard where a wedding ceremony takes place. This location provides abundant opportunities for those memorable photographs.
The perfect wedding reception comes with many options, including canapés and drinks served in the garden or in the historic Wine Museum, progressing onto a sit-down dinner in the characteristic Barrel Room featuring barn-like wooden doors opening out to an outdoor area, a perfect setting to continue the dance floor festivities.
Fireside Sunday's: Sunday dinners will not be the same again; with Adam cooking up a storm on the open fire in an event suitably named "Fireside Sunday's". Twine Restaurant is bound to attract locals and the long weekenders to the theme night with a difference.
Fireside Sunday's are held every Sunday and involve slow roasted wood fired meats cooked on the open fire, ranging from "Whole snapper wrapped in banana leaf with chermoula spices" to "Preserved lemon and rosemary lamb shoulder" and "8 hour slow roasted pork". Desly Harris, Wynwood Estate's General Manager said;

Wynwood Estate boasts 100 picturesque acres of land including 65 acres of manicured vineyard which you are welcome to use for photos. The cost of $350 includes.
The set up white chairs to accommodate 25 percent of the guests. A table with skirting and two chairs for the Bride and Groom's signing. Large white Bali flags where the ceremony is held if you wish.
Wet weather back up plan; We do have a Barrel Room available in the cellar door for use. However, you will be required to watch the weather reports and make a decision 3 full working days prior as we need to set this room. The charge is $150 extra, if you are getting married in the Barrel Room there is no extra charge but we still need 3 full working days prior as we will have to make room prior to setting up for the reception.
Post ceremony bar; We offer a Sparkling bar after the ceremony allowing the wedding party can have their photos whilst their guests are looked after with Wynwood sparkling wine, Premium beers, orange juice and crudity plates for guest to snack on prior to getting into the start of the reception. The cost for the Sparkling Bar is $15 per person and goes for 45 minutes after the ceremony ends enabling the bridal party enough time for plenty of photos. Alternatively guests can pay for their own drinks on consumption from our outside bar.

Wynwood Estate is a spectacular venue for a memorable day. Our barrel room has some of the largest and oldest oak barrels in Australia and can comfortably accommodate up to 130 guests.
The barrel room captures a unique Hunter Valley wedding experience.

All menus are guidelines and can be changed to suit your needs and create the ultimate night for your special event. All menus include kitchen staff and are based on a minimum of 50 guests. Wait staff are extra and we can supply professional bar and wait staff starting at $35 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours. Extra costs may incur depending on venues requirements for function. Dine around the vines on Wynwood Estate with 12 courses, with each course being matched with a different Wynwood Estate wine. After every 2nd course you will be required to walk approximately 100 metres to the next location (seating will be limited) where the next course and matched wine will be served. Water will be provided at each station. The progressive dinner ends with a live magician show by Adam Mada, music and dancing in our Barrel Room, cheese platters will be served at this time.

We will be moving across the Wynwood Estate property and every second course will be in a different location, 6 in all moving every hour to the next 2 courses.

The AFTER PARTY being held in the Wynwood Estate Barrel Room will end at 10pm.
